Weird German Sci-fi pictures

I encountered this little treasure on one of my many nightly romps through the internet (which I usually reminiscent of Alice's own romp in Wonderland).

This is a picture found in a turn of the century (last century) product called a Sammelalbum, this particular picture can be found in the 1898 Stollwerck Sammelalbum. From what I found (and forgive me if I'm wrong, but it is in German), during this time people would buy these albums, filled with pictures or chocolates or some little thing, as gifts, either precursors or just similar to modern-day greeting cards.

I encountered this one on while looking at the Sci-Fi page on the German Wikipedia site (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Science-Fiction). Any turn of the century Science Fiction gets me all excited, and this one especially so because it looks ahead almost a century. Its always a treat to see how people a hundred years ago thought we'd be doing today. I wonder if there are more of these with this Sci-Fi twist out there, but so far I've been unsuccessful finding them.

Should we start replacing "Where's my Jetpack!" with "Where's my Giant Cloth Wings!" or "Where's my two-story Hotelmobile!"? Somehow I don't think it will catch on.
